ZANU-PF Politburo member and former Cabinet Minister Cde Sikhanyiso Ndlovu’s condition has not changed and he is still admitted to Mater Dei Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit where doctors are monitoring him. Cde Ndlovu was rushed to the Roman Catholic church-run institution after suffering a stroke last week. His brother Simangaliso Ndlovu said his condition had not improved since his admission to hospital last week. “Lokhe kunjalo (there is no change), he is very ill, doctors are monitoring him. For his condition, we don’t expect a sudden change,” he said. The liberation war stalwart was admitted to the hospital on Sunday last week after an asthma attack.

He later suffered a stroke. Simangaliso said last week’s cold spell could have contributed to Cde Ndlovu’s condition. He expressed gratitude to family and friends who have been visiting Cde Ndlovu while he is admitted in hospital. “He has been receiving a lot of support from his family and friends. His archbishop came all the way from Harare to pray for him. More people have been very supportive and we’re wishing him a speedy recovery,” Simangaliso said.

Cde Ndlovu is a renowned educationist and founder of the Zimbabwe Distance Education College (ZDECO). He is a former deputy Minister of Education and Minister of Media, Information and Publicity.

Cde Ndlovu is also the chairperson of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Schools and Welfare Trust.
