GWERU will this weekend awaken from its slumber as the man of the moment, Winky D of the Disappear fame, is set to ignite the city with a performance at the Midlands hotel tomorrow.

The much-hyped show will serve as a welcome party for Midlands State University (MSU) students who recently started lessons.

Winky D, now referred to as the Gafa, will share the stage with popular dancehall group – Judgment Yard who performed in Bulawayo last weekend. This will be their first time to perform in Gweru this year.

Show organiser, Blessing Nyanhete, popularly known as DJ Blesh, said all was set for the event.

“All is in order and we’re just waiting for Winky D and Judgement Yard to arrive in Gweru. This will be the best show ever to be held in Gweru,” DJ Blesh said.

“We’re confident that Winky D will make the show memorable.”

He said music fans had been starved of quality entertainment in Gweru.

“It’s been a long time since the Ninja president performed in Gweru and the fans have been requesting that we bring him this side. We listened and intend to bring more top notch artistes.”
